Have you realized that you are also guilty?

At this, those who heard began to go away one at a time, the older ones first, until only Jesus was left, with the woman still standing there.
(John 8:9 (NIV))

If you are familiar with the story of the woman caught in adultery, you recognize this as part of the words that were used to explain what transpired.

We are all familiar with the end of this story where Jesus share these words with the woman.

"Go now and leave your life of sin."
(John 8:11c (NIV))

We use these words, and rightly so, to emphasize that we are to repent and leave our lives of sin, but we often fail to recognize that there were other people involved in this story. We fail to recognize those whom Jesus spoke to with these words.

"Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her."
(John 8:7b (NIV))

We need to realize that each and every one of us is guilty of sin. We must realize that we do not have the right to condemn others for their sins. We must realize that we are just as guilty in the eyes of God as those whom we point fingers at.

That is exactly what happened with these individuals!

They realized their own sin and walked away knowing that they should all be sentenced accordingly.

With the events that have been transpiring in this world, and now with the second attack on Israel, each of us must take a serious look at where our hearts are in relation to what the Lord asks of us. I bring up the attacks on Israel because it appears that God's timeline is unfolding rapidly at this point. I don't profess to know the day or the hour, but I do know that we must be ready. We must realize one important fact.

We are all sinners in need of a savior!

I have but one question to ask of you. Answer truthfully, for you eternity depends upon your answer.

Have you realized that you are also guilty?
